PNW Water Quality and Monitoring Program Cover A 15-hour short course on voluntary water monitoring by local citizens was delivered in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with the support of USDA-NIFA funds in 1999-2000. The course includes eight hours of classroom training and seven hours in the field doing physical, biological, and chemical assessments of surface waters. Evaluations by participants and requests for the curriculum showed the success of the course. View the Monitoring Program Workshop Guide.
